Crane Operator Certification Ontario - The process to permit individuals in order to operate certain kinds of cranes is to take crane operator certification training to acquire certification. Following in-class instruction, practical operating instruction and evaluation, and written test, the trainee will receive an individual wallet certificate and the company will be given a wall certificate. To achieve certification, trainees must have an 80% passing score on both practical and written tests.

Included in the crane operator certification program is the following: Policies and regulations, instruction manuals; safety issues; hazards of high voltage; emergency rescue procedures; communications and signals; types, components, and terms; pre-operational inspection; pre-lift set-up and planning; crane configuration and capacity; wire rope and rigging; hammerhead / luffing jib crane operations; climbing cranes; fall protection; WHMIS; crane maintenance and First aid & CPR.

To be able to become an overhead crane operator, the minimum basics include possessing the mental and physical capability needed to perform crane work. The necessary capabilities which are necessary consist of depth perception, normal field of vision, manual dexterity, reaction time and coordination. Potential operators must not have the tendency to become dizzy. Operators who do not already have proof of qualifications and experience should obtain certification.
